Hello Liberty Stars!! Welcome back to school! Mrs. Woodward and I are thrilled to welcome you back to the Liberty library for a year filled with exciting reading adventures! You will visit the library once a week as part of your weekly schedule. Please view the schedule on our library web page to see when your class has library.
Below, you'll find our library policies regarding book checkouts:
- Checkout Period: You may borrow books for one week. Please make sure as part of your homework, that your library books are placed back into your bookbag the night before your library day.
- Maximum Checkout: Grades K-2 can borrow one book each week. Grades 3-5 can borrow up to two books a week. In grades 3-5, if you are not finished with a book, the book can be renewed, however your book must still come back to the library to be renewed.
- Overdue Notices: Overdue notices are emailed weekly. If your book(s) is/are overdue you will not be able borrow additional books until the overdue book(s) are returned or renewed.
- Lost Books: If a book is lost, please search thoroughly before replacing it. Books end up in the most unusual places! Under the seats of a car, in a closet, under a bed, in the cushions of the couch etc.
- Damaged Books: You are responsible for damaged books. Examples include damage by animals or small children, stains from food or liquids, or improper storage leading to torn pages. Damaged books must be brought to the library for assessment; and will have to be replaced if the book cannot be repaired.
If you miss your library day you can visit the library when you return to school to take out a new book after you arrive to your classroom first thing in the morning.
Most important, we can't wait to see your smiling faces in our Global Learning Commons!
